About El Paso, IL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

El Paso was founded by George Gibson and James Wathen and named after El Paso, Texas.  This is an established Midwestern township with a lot of personalities.  The nature in the area is also pretty amazing. You should definitely check out Grandview Drive. It is two and a half miles of scenic road with parks running alongside and a view of the Illinois River from almost the entire thing. It is one of the first “linear” parks in the country.  It is an incredible place to take in the remarkable seasonal landscapes in the area. Multicolored leaves in the autumn followed by chilly winters and next sunshiny spring living. Summers are all about kids at the lake, ice cream, and family fun.

The Morton Pumpkin Festival is an example of that family fun. It is in the nearby town of Morton and is held every year. Over the years, the festival has grown and visitors come from all over to check out what the “Pumpkin Capital of the World” has to offer. It is held every autumn when the weather is right for pumpkin picking… and throwing! The Punkin Chuckin’ Contest is the biggest hit of the celebration. Amazing machines, from trebuchets to air cannons, have come out of the competition.  Some of them have even been featured on Jay Leno and Dave Letterman.

The area is closely associated with two US presidents. The first was Abraham Lincoln who worked in many local courthouses as an attorney. He also spoke at Eureka College. It is a private, Christian college in Eureka, Illinois, whose most famous alumni is – the other president loved in the area - Ronald Reagan. The President graduated in 1932 with a degree in economics and sociology, and the school celebrates his legacy in many ways. He has also shown great loyalty to the town with many visits over the years. He loved his alma mater just as much as it loved him.
